Whoa!??

Was browsing through some Hollywood chismis sites and saw this picture of Christina Aguillera — can’t help but wonder if those are real.

I’m kinda lazy to look it up — but man, those are H-U-G-E!!

eye-twitching and whatnot

My eye started to twitch this year. It started out with the right eye, then eventually, on really stressful days, both eyes would involuntary twitch in unison. Today, in particular, I woke up this morning with a major twitch on my right eye. As I am typing this post, this really annoying twitch is still here, reminding me that I really need to rest.

I remember a few weeks back when I google’d this and saw that the number #1 factor that’s causing this is STRESS. I told myself, that should explain it! With everything that’s happening with my team, with all the deliverables and admin stuff that we have to finish on a tight deadline, with constant change to workflow, with my evident effort to sleep as early as 7pm everyday so I can reach the office at 4-friggin-AM (yep, my shift starts at 4am!) — it should be enough to send my eyes to twitch uncontrollably that I feel like I’m going to have a breakdown soon.

Today was particularly busy with the Quarterly Business Review and I had to do my own presentation for my LOB (Line of Business). Sometimes, you’d wonder how you do it. This task was assigned/given to me only last Friday, as I was about to go on my weekend off. I was so busy trying to finish my coachings, audits, monitorings and this landed on my lap. I didn’t want to open that email nor open the file because I knew that the moment I do that, I won’t be able to finish anything at all.

I guess for you to drive (or push?) yourself to doing these things would rely more on you being a responsible person and the flattery of knowing that they know that you can do the task simply because they handed it to you. Those are the little quirks of all these stress that we go through day in, day out.

If you ask me - I’m not really doing all of these to impress the clients, or managers. I think, most managers do this because we would like to show the clients how much worked hard on this. This is our fulfillment.

Our passion.

I sound like I LOVE(!) my job to the highest level, hehe. But this is what I have been doing for a long, long time now and I guess, the more experience you get, the more you tend to be more passionate about it. Burnout can be felt too, monotony. But it’s how it is. If ever we all move on, we still and will bring this to wherever we’re going.

I think I need to sleep now… my eye twitch is getting worse. Will end this post with one quote by my one of my leadership authors, John Maxwell:

A great leader’s courage to fulfill his vision comes from passion, not position.

Postscript: Due to the client visits and QBR, they had to change our schedules to 1pm til 1030pm. Because of this, I missed this week’s American Idol :( :(  Anyhow, I’ll just catch the replays on Star World or Q over the weekend <eye twitch>

<eye twitch>Also, I’ve watch Prison Break over the weekend. Thanks to my sister Wenna, she was bringing her company’s infocus, so we hooked it up with my bro’s laptop, plugged in our Altec speakers and lied down and watched PB just like we we’re watching it inside a theater! Planning to buy the new(est) season of Grey’s Anatomy and House so I can put up my feet and be a real couch potato this weekend.

Can’t wait!! <giddy>
