Consistently Inconsistent

Cap_008 That’s a phrase that I heard about when I had my Motivation Workshop last week. We were talking about our judgement about men and one supervisor simply said that men are "consistently inconsistent". Nice play of words, eh? But then again, men and their inconsistency, that’s another blog entry.

But then again, I don’t think it doesn’t only apply to guys only. If we’re talking about reality, well, there are some things that just remain inconsistent. Like in the call center industry. Who would’ve thought that I’d be transferring to another queue again, to another team? (43 people!!!) I mean, I was all geared up to stay with my halfies! Then here comes the ATO queue.

Funny how we always wondered, the first batch of Safe Harbor, what if, we do get the Investigations and ATO queues? Then we’d just laugh like it’s impossible. We knew how complicated the queues were — and here we are now. Ramping up left and right, different queues to be handled, different queues that we never thought we’ll get. I say, the team is a success. Is it a measure of success, getting all these queues from eBay? YES!

We really have come a long way — and to think, most of the people from my original team already got promoted as SME’s? I feel VERY proud, like a stage mom rooting and cheering for her kids. (take note: STAGE MOM, not a mom! haha)

As for the halfies, I am confident that they will be able to work without me. They’re individuals who require minimal supervision. I hope I was able to gear them up with these kinds of changes - I know I did. So I’m not too worried. They get along fine and they have teamwork, even if they haven’t realized it yet. I’ll surely miss them. So cheers to another team. Hopefully, this one will be another successful one!

I forgot to update my blog a few weeks ago - we went to this place in Gerona, Tarlac, called ISDAAN (fishpond in English). For the sake of those who don’t know where the hell that is, Gerona is located in the northern part of the country. They have this wall where you can throw ceramic plates at, where you can aim at some parts of the wall as to what your current frustration is. For example, you hate your boss, then AIM for the "Supervisors, Managers, etc" part of the wall. Here’s a pic:

It’s liberating, really. If you’re really into it, you can even throw an old TV to the wall! The plates only costs P20 and the TV around a thousand bucks. 200806_1319 It’s fun, really — I plan to bring my team there, if time permits.

The restaurant rests on a fishpond full of fish (of course!! hahaha) and you can just look down and see all the colorful fishes swimming around. They even have kiddie bikes scattered around for the kids — and lifejackets to go with it. I asked one waiter why there were lifejackets around, they say that they ask the kids to put in on, just in case they jump into the 6 ft. deep fishpond. (Hell I’d wear it in case we decide to get drunk!).

Then there’s this "bridge" around 8-12 inches wide where you’re challenged to cross it — and you can get a kilo of fish and have it cooked anyway you want it. Nice, huh?
